When the people of the small Russian village of Rostov are robbed of all their gold by a band of marauders they turn to strapping youth Alosha to recover it. Now Alosha may be very brave and terribly strong but he is far from the brightest lad in the land and his adventure is fraught with mistakes, missteps, and mishaps. Accompanied by a talking horse, his aged uncle, the lovely maiden who adores him, and her wise(cracking) grandmother he struggles across a rushing river, falls into a deep dark cave, begs for a brutal battle, tames a greedy Duke, comes face to fist with his sworn enemy, and returns home a legend. From the creators of last year's BIFF Kids festival hit Little Longnose, this is the highest grossing Russian animated feature of all time. Discover the unlikely, but very likable, hero that took Russia by storm.
