Resonant with the themes that have informed his best work (American Gigolo, Light Sleeper, his script for Taxi Driver), Paul Schrader presents us with a morally dubious anti-hero finding redemption through crisis with his best film in a decade. Woody Harrelson plays the role of Carter Page III, a gay gadabout and gossip in the Washington DC establishment, who entertains the wives of the rich and powerful with card games and tittle-tattle, accompanying them to the highbrow cultural events that bore their husbands. He values his reputation above all else, but a murder forces him to put that on the line.

Paul Schrader directed such films as Autofocus and Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist, but he also directed American Gigolo and is known for penning the screenplays to Scorsese flicks as Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Bringing Out the Dead. The Walker, stars Woody Harrelson as a “society walker” (aka an upper class male escort) who is paid to take high society ladies of Washington, D.C. out on the town. In doing so, however, he picks up on a lot of dark secrets, and eventually finds himself embroiled in a murder case.
