(West Long Branch, NJ) -- 2007 Two River Film Festival partnered with Monmouth University opens with Julian Schnabel's powerful film The Diving Bell and the Butterfly which earned him Best Director at the 60th Cannes Film Festival. Our Closing Night films will be the New Jersey premieres of The Walker which boasts an all star cast including Woody Harrelson, Lauren Bacall, Willem Dafoe, Kristin Scott Thomas, Ned Beatty, Lily Tomlin, and Mary Beth Hurt; Think Film's powerful |
Documentary Nanking; and Julian Schnabel's concert film, Berlin. This year our 'Out of the Vault Selection' features for the first time in three generations Lawrence of Arabia on Pollak Theatre's big screen.
The festival takes place on November 2, 3, 4 & 19, 2007.
Festival Founder, Rosellen Otrakji says "I am honored to be working again with Jon Kilik, Julian Schnabel, Mark Urman at Think Film and Tom Bernard, President of Sony Pictures Classics. Again we are thrilled to bring these wonderful films to the Monmouth area for the first time."
The 2007 TWO RIVER FILM FESTIVAL includes 11 New Jersey Premiere films including a Centerpiece Premiere Surprise Award Winner from Cannes and a total of 24 films which will play at Monmouth University's Pollak Theatre and Red Bank's Clearview Cinemas.
Otrakji continues, "This year we chose "Perspectives" as our theme which is evident in Amalia Caputo's stunning photograph created for our festival this year. This 5th season is particularly exciting as we bring students and professors from Monmouth University, and community together to celebrate premiere film, panels and scholarship. We live in a very special community tucked away but close to New York City - what better way to go back to school than by spending time with us each year and throughout the year taking advantage of our programming, faculty, panels and our unique spin on film, culture and education."
